Proverbs 13:13 The one who despises the word will be in debt (destroyed by it) to it, but the one who fears the commandment will be rewarded. The non-believer who hates the word will eventually be destroyed by the life they live in defiance to the only thing that can save them.  The one who loves the word of God and keeps it will enjoy the benefits of the wisdom and knowledge of following the word and the blessings that come from God because of it and will eventually be in heaven one day because of their trust in Christ.  Do we really believe and trust the word like we ought to?  Let’s examine what prioritizes our life.
Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today.
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  -John 8:32

In Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. The background for this is that Jesus is being tempted in the wilderness.  If Jesus is quoting this as He is being tempted, how much more do you think we need to read, know and memorize the Word of God.  In 2 Peter 1:3 it says His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, this means through the relationship we have with Jesus and His word we don’t need anything else to fight temptation and help us live this life in wisdom and power.  Do you believe in the sufficiency of scripture and believe that it is enough to give you the wisdom and power to be an overcomer through any and all problems you will have in this life?  Jesus said it was.

The Bible tells us that if we add anything to what Christ did, it is not true salvation.  The old song says Jesus paid it all and He did. If we could do anything to achieve salvation Christ could have stayed in Heaven and not come to earth. That was the whole point of His coming to earth. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures). Galations 2:21 says "I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." What are you trusting In?
